小戴粉絲養成

這一陣子變成小戴的球迷。上禮拜天看了這場比賽，禮拜一我的羽球快樂夥伴開玩笑問我週末是不是跑去找私人教練偷練，球技突然進步很多。

我：沒有啦，只是昨天看了女單球賽。
快樂夥伴：你看了多少球賽？
我：就一場呀。
快樂夥伴：到底是什麼比賽，你看一場比我們陪你練了半年還有效....

春聯

多年前我幫當時在外交部當替代役Keith Wang寫了一幅春聯：

唐山化干戈為玉帛

記得當時我找了春聯範例的書，和Keith Wang討論了好一陣子才定案（而且因為既狗腿又白爛我笑了好久），不過現在一直想不起來下聯究竟寫了什麼.... @@

練字

兩、三年沒寫字，今天一開筆，只有臨黃山谷的字勉強可以看。黃山谷果然是我的好朋友....

今年希望能寫春聯順便把熊老師掛了十幾年的春聯換掉。是說前兩年回台大，看到熊老師掛的春聯，心想：這春聯寫得好醜。過了兩秒....靠妖這是我寫的！ Or2

Ferbelization

Knowing I was working at DZero and graduating from Rochester...

John Ellison: So you know Tom Ferbel?
Me: Yes! He Ferbelized my thesis!
John: He is Ferbelizing my papers in CMS...

It is amusing but not surprising that he promptly got what "Ferbelization" means. LOL

Hagel and Confucianism

I always complain with Gianluca that Confucianism is not systematic and likely not self-consistent. You can quote some pieces to support one argument, and find another piece for some different argument.

Me: I've learned a particular German philosopher was commenting on Confucianism... who is that guy? I don't know how to pronounce his name in German or English. Gianluca: Friedrich!
Me (googling): Hagel. Right, he is Friedrich!
Gianluca: Hagel wouldn't appreciate Confucianism, because he is the person who has a very systematic approach.
Me: I see. Indeed, the Analects is a collection of Facebook posts or twitters from Confucius' students in my opinion. It is not systematic at all.
Gianluca: Hagel would come to the librarian, "could you please give me a complete translation of the Analects?" "Sorry, it is the complete translation."
